Alright, so I've spent the last two weeks working on and off on my character for the Time of War RPG we're going to be trying this Tuesday.
Not as bad as some other P&P games I've played for creation.
Basically, you start with 5000XP and start buying Packages that determine what attributes, skills, and traits you start with.  Then you can spend whatever is left over on increasing those numbers.

I've been building mine in Excel as it was the only convenient way to keep track of everything and run the numbers faster...

As it sits, I'm hashing out the last in an extra character I drew up just in case.  (Yeah, just in case I DIE in the first 5 minutes...  Sad to say, but that's happened before.)

We've still got some time, so I might just make one more...  Yes, I'm Really that bored at work!

Looking forward to seeing how our bringer of hell-fire and pain entertainment dishes out the scenario...  I think he mentioned something about the A-Team...  Oh, well.

Right, here we go.

Two weeks ago we tried to have the Siege of Castle Aaagh! go down.  Unfortunately, a technical snafu nixed the basic idea.  We ran a Free-For-All in place, and had a good time with the 5 souls what showed up.  We're going to try for a redo this Tuesday.  Battle Armor will flood the table...

Last week we tried the Battletech RPG A Time of War to an interesting beginning.  Don't think our GM has thrown us into the grinder quite yet.  Guess we'll see when the flesh starts flying out the windows and inconvenienceing the passers-by that we're in the thick of things.
We're going to try this again on a bi-weekly basis. Next RPG game is August 3rd.

Just on the off chance anyone Really wants to know, we've got a Fed-Suns Mechwarrior, a Fed-Suns Demo expert, a Lyran Intel operative (who apparently took a correspondance course in Mech Operations), a Merc Tanker, and a trio of down-and-out Battle Armor operatives from the Draconis Combine.  What a Motley Crue, I mean Crew...  This is going to be interesting.

Well, here's a novel idea.  I'm updating this FROM the game!

As I look over the field, I can only think of two ideas.
One: Slaughter.  That's what this is...
Two: The Horde Mentality works better when you outnumber your opponent 3 to one when assaulting a fortified position.

I guess things would have progressed differently if an entire flank hadn't been wiped out in the first turn from a lovely artillery burst...
C'est la vie.

Poor Sanders was loosing troops faster than cash in Vegas.  It was pretty bad I must say.

Well, the French won the game with the forces of King Arthur laying around the field.  I think I can hear the bell and the shouts of "Bring out your Dead!" coming.

Ooh, Fluxx.  Think I'll go join in.

Yeah, a Whole Flank.  4 out of 5 squads turned into Jello in a heartbeat.

Well, that was entertaining.  Yesterday we played the ToW again, and I have a feeling that with what we learned last night things are going to a lot worse for us in future missions.  We may need to have some people spring for some grenade launchers to use.

Also found out that plasma cannons are EVIL on poor under-armored security forces...  Why do I suddenly smell burnt toast??

As for next week, we seem to have drawn yet More inspiration from the realm of Monty Python.  We shall be battling the White Rabbit.  Only difference this go round is that the Rabbit weighs 100 tons and will be toting some serious fire-power...  And there is No Holy Hand Grenade for the poor knights this time.  Seems to be another fine mess we've gotten ourselves into.
